University demands staff responsibility

Roskilde University has been informed that staff participated in events organized by pro-Palestinian group RUC Intifada on campus. Students and staff have been feeling unsafe due to hateful graffiti and recent demonstrations. The rectorate emphasizes employees’ responsibility to ensure a safe environment for all students. Two protests and a sit-in have been organized by RUC Intifada this autumn, accompanied by hateful graffiti against Israel, Jews, and the university itself. The university management condemns these actions and has reported them to the police. One student with a Jewish background has left their studies due to these incidents. The university stresses serious efforts to restore inclusive dialogue and warns that violation of laws or university rules can result in expulsion or dismissal. Future demonstrations must be pre-reported to the police and the university, which are no longer available for RUC Intifada’s meetings or activities.
