Green Red Alliance Expels Member for Harmful Remarks
The Danish political party, The Green Red Alliance, exercised its revised exclusion rules to expel a member for harmful activities conflicting with its policies. This decision, confirmed by Rasmus Holme Nielsen, aligns with the rules established at December’s extraordinary conference. The move relates to disputes after a Hamas attack on Israel, with the ousted member, Esben Søvang Maaløe, opposing the party’s designation of the attack as terrorism. He publicly acknowledged his expulsion on Facebook. Justifications for his exclusion include statements made to the press after the conference, failing to engage in dialogue with party leadership, and escalating during a time of crisis for the party.
