Total solar eclipse greets mexico, heads to North America

A total solar eclipse began in parts of Mexico on Monday and was warmly welcomed in the coastal town of Mazatlán with cheers. Observers, equipped with special glasses, gathered to experience the phenomenon which started at 11:07 AM local time. During the event, temperatures dropped slightly, music paused, and a calm ambiance took over as people took photos. The eclipse, lasting between 3 mins 30 secs and 4 mins, will be observed through planned festivals, mass weddings, and other events along its path. NASA estimates about 31.6 million will witness the total eclipse, but cloud forecasts introduce some uncertainty, as expressed by Bob and Teresa Love who traveled to New York. The eclipse will reach parts of the US in the afternoon, and although Teresa is trying to manage expectations due to weather, she anticipates a potentially exhilarating experience.
