Govt sets aside 500M for negotiation fund
Denmark’s SVM government plans to allocate 500 million kroner to the negotiation reserve in the 2025 budget proposal, the same amount as last year’s initial proposal. The reserve is a fund for parties to realize their specific requests during budget negotiations. In the past, this amount has been over one and two billion kroner. A historically low reserve of 200 million kroner was proposed in the spring of 2023 due to the late finalization of that year’s budget after the SVM government formed in December 2022. The government will announce its budget proposal, which includes job cuts in state administration and reinstating the tradesmen deduction. Finance Minister Nicolai Wammen and other ministers will present the details on Friday at 11 AM at the Finance Ministry.
