Lars Findsen granted trial on sex life claims

Lars Findsen, the suspended head of the Danish Defence Intelligence Service, has been allowed by the Lyngby Court to include claims about briefings concerning his sex life in his compensation case for defamation. The briefings by the PET’s chief allegedly occurred while Findsen faced charges of revealing state secrets, which were later dropped without a trial. Findsen seeks additional compensation beyond the 200,000 DKK already granted for wrongful imprisonment and extended wiretapping. He claims an additional 50,000 DKK is due, partly because of the PET chief’s purported disclosure of intimate details about his sex life to top politicians, as reported by Berlingske. The PET chief, Finn Borch Andersen, denies sharing any irrelevant information. Findsen’s lawyer argues that the PET leader has broken his confidentiality agreement, and Findsen has described the alleged sharing as a ‘deep violation’ of his and his family’s privacy.
