Mette F. attends urgent EU summit with leaders

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen will participate in an emergency European summit in Paris, as confirmed by the State Department. The summit is set to address ‘European security’ and the situation in Ukraine. The French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot announced the meeting will be hosted by President Emmanuel Macron. Ahead of Monday’s meeting, the French presidential office voiced a need for Europe to enhance its collective security. Notably, the meeting is also expected to cover America’s efforts to exclude Europe from Ukraine-Russia peace negotiations. Attendees will include leaders from several European countries as well as NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Discussions about Ukraine’s potential future in NATO may also take place.
