2024 average electricity price marginally higher
The average electricity price in Denmark for 2024 was marginally higher than in 2023, at 2.73 kroner per kilowatt-hour, compared to 2.71 kroner. Although there’s been more stability in electricity prices, they remain above pre-pandemic levels, with 2010s prices around 2.30 kroner. There has been a significant drop from the energy crisis peak in 2022, with the average family saving 4600 kroner last year based on a 4000 kilowatt-hour annual consumption. Despite the reductions, families still paid about 1500 kroner more than before the pandemic. Price volatility was evident as daily and hourly fluctuations occurred in 2024, and at times prices even dropped below zero.
