Swedish teens charged with murder plot

Swedish prosecutors have charged two teenage boys in relation to a planned contract killing in Denmark. Additionally, a 14-year-old girl will be prosecuted to establish her culpability, although due to her age, actual punishment is not applicable. The main suspect, a 16-year-old boy, was arrested at Stockholm’s central station on July 8, intending to travel to Malmö. According to the investigation, he received instructions via the Signal app to kill an unidentified person in Denmark for a payment of 150,000 Swedish kronor. He is also accused of attempting to recruit others for shootings in Denmark. The second boy detained on the same day purchased the train ticket for the main suspect. The 14-year-old girl is suspected of sending money to the lead defendant and planning to travel with him. Her attempted travel on July 8 was thwarted; she was apprehended in Malmö two days later, preventing her trip to Denmark.
