Nordic Waste’s sister company sues municipality

DSH Recycling, related to Nordic Waste, is suing Randers Municipality to invalidate a decision that holds it liable for a landslide’s environmental risks. The municipality asserts Nordic Waste’s operational control contributed to a significant environmental threat to Alling Å. Despite Nordic Waste’s bankruptcy, the municipality believes DSH Recycling shares responsibility due to overlapping business activities and land ownership. Investigations by the Kammeradvokaten support claims against DSH Recycling. The municipal director anticipates the legal proceedings with confidence, though regrets the expenditure on lawsuits. The municipality estimates spending between DKK 468.2 and 663.4 million on related environmental efforts.
