Job boom continues: 2400 more employed in February
Since early 2021, the number of employees in Denmark has been increasing, with 2,400 more people employed in February, reaching a total of 3,046,600. This is an increase of 33,100 compared to the previous year. Most jobs were created in the private sector, which saw an increase of about 3,300 employees, while nearly 1,000 jobs were lost in the public sector. Palle Sørensen, chief economist at Nykredit, notes that these figures are somewhat dated, prior to Trump’s announcement of plans to raise import tariffs significantly. A potential trade war may eventually reduce Danish jobs but not immediately. Jeppe Juul Borre from Arbejdernes Landsbank also suggests that while the record of employment may continue, the future appears uncertain due to global economic challenges and business hesitations.
