Study reveals toxic culture in ‘Toppen af poppen’
A survey conducted by Mastiff, the production company of TV 2’s ‘Toppen af poppen’, from 2015 to 2022 exposes widespread inappropriate behavior. Key individuals have been identified as responsible for generating a culture of harassment and unwanted sexual attention. The study, triggered by a documentary exposing sexism in the music industry, implicates everyone involved including artists, band members, and leadership at both Mastiff and TV 2. Mastiff described the investigation as impartial, led by researcher Mille Mortensen and supported by Rambøll’s quantitative analysis. The company admitted to mishandling prior complaints about workplace climate and has since focused on leadership training. No one has been fired due to the investigation’s findings, according to Kristian Farcin-Leth, CEO of Mastiff. TV 2 has paused collaboration with The Antonelli Orchestra but is open to work with individual musicians following the conclusion of the study.
