Average family gains 1,735 DKK monthly

A Danish family’s disposable income will definitively escape the shadow of inflation in 2024, according to a calculation from Danske Bank. The typical family will have 1,735 DKK more per month after fixed expenses and price adjustments, an increase of 600 DKK compared to 2022. This improvement is primarily due to an average wage rise of 4.9%, plus an additional 0.5% from the cancellation of Great Prayer Day payments. With general prices expected to rise by only about 2%, this results in a noticeable real wage increase. Louise Aggerstrøm Hansen from Danske Bank anticipates the disposable income will grow further by around 1,300 DKK in 2025 due to continued wage increases, low inflation, and a tax reduction through a higher employment deduction.
