Trump and Putin set for Tuesday call

On his way from Washington D.C. to Florida, President Donald Trump stated he is scheduled to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday. He expressed hope in potentially ending the war in Ukraine, suggesting that there may be an announcement regarding the recent Russia-Ukraine discussions. Trump plans to discuss countries, power plants, and the allocation of certain assets already debated by Ukraine and Russia. The U.S. presented a 30-day ceasefire proposal last week, which is supported by Ukraine and conditionally by Putin. Trump’s aim is to win Putin’s backing for this ceasefire amidst ongoing airstrikes between the nations. The exact time of Trump and Putin’s call was not disclosed. The conflict started with Russia’s attack on Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
