58-year-old agrees to extended detention in terror case
A 58-year-old man has consented to a voluntary extension of his pre-trial detention by at least four weeks in a case linked to the terrorist group Hamas and gang environments. Having been detained for seven months, the case details are kept confidential as all custody hearings have occurred behind double-closed doors, a decision upheld by the Eastern High Court. The man, who has been active in public debate for years, denies the allegations. In the same case, two women in their early twenties and another individual were arrested in December but have since been released, while three others are detained in absentia.
