Parties urged not to alter historic tripartite deal

The Danish government has reached what they call a ‘historic’ tripartite agreement and urges other parties in the Parliament not to amend it. A critical component of the deal remains unresolved: securing 30 billion Danish Kroner to fund initiatives including the planting of 250,000 hectares of forest and converting 140,000 hectares of peatland. The text of the agreement does not mention any specifics about the funding. However, the Ministry of Finance has indicated that the government will propose a financing plan during negotiations with Parliament’s parties on the tripartite agreement made with the government and organizations.
