Denmark calls for support in Ukraine’s arms industry

Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen will campaign for more EU countries to invest in Ukraine’s defense industry during the EU defense ministers’ meeting. Denmark, along with several other nations, urged the European Commission and peers to back this initiative. Denmark has signed a declaration to invest in Ukrainian-produced drones, missiles, and artillery, and they encourage others to either join them or support their efforts financially. Poulsen expects to initiate the first project in June. Highlighting that 80% of EU defense materials since the invasion have been sourced outside Europe, Poulsen stresses the strategic importance of a self-sufficient Ukraine in producing and maintaining its military equipment.
