Tine Fischer Appointed as New Director of DFI

Tine Fischer is set to become the new director of the Danish Film Institute (DFI) starting August 1st, as announced by the institute. Fischer, currently the rector at the National Film School of Denmark since 2021 and former director of the CPH:DOX documentary film festival, is ready to lead DFI toward modernization and innovation, essential for the future of Danish film, she says. Acknowledging the challenges and changes brought by digital media, Fischer aims to create a clear, visionary, and unifying institute. Outgoing director Claus Ladegaard is stepping down after eighteen years at the institute, the last seven as CEO. The Danish Film Institute, established in 1972, operates under the Ministry of Culture.
