Family cultural habits seem hereditary

Statistics Denmark reveals that adults who were brought to cultural events as children are more likely to do the same with their own kids. In the 30-55 age group with children at home, 71% who experienced museums, theaters, or concerts in childhood have since taken their children to museums in 2024, compared to 43% of parents who lacked such experiences. There’s a growing divide in cultural consumption between those with and without children at home, particularly noticeable in movie, concert, and art exhibition attendance since 2012. Lars Bertolt Winther from Danish Industry underscores the vital role culture plays in societal development and international understanding. Adults with children also frequent libraries more, with about 70% visiting libraries consistently, whereas the number has declined from 59% to 47% among adults without children since 2004.
