DSB profits soar to 425 million kroner
In 2023, DSB achieved a pre-tax profit of 425 million kroner, approximately 85% higher than the previous year, as reported in their annual financial statement. The increase is partly due to a 200 million kroner compensation from a former supplier. Throughout the year, travel numbers rose to 162 million, a 9% hike compared to last year. S-trains have shown a remarkable punctuality rate of 96%, with passengers reaching their final stops within 3 minutes of the scheduled time, marking a historical high for DSB. However, long-distance and regional trains have a lower punctuality, with only 70% of the trains arriving within a similar punctuality margin. DSB Director Flemming Jensen acknowledges a return to pre-COVID customer levels, attributing the growth to offers like cheaper orange tickets, which the company plans to increase in 2024. DSB, state-owned, intends to pay out a 180 million kroner dividend for the year.
