Denmark backs Ukraine’s ops inside Russia

The Danish government supports Ukraine’s entry into Russia, specifically within the Kursk region, considering it a defensive operation to protect the country. Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, after a meeting in the Foreign Policy Committee, stated that a war cannot be won solely by defense. The ministers do not object to Danish-donated weapons being used within Russian borders as self-defense might include advancing into the attacker’s territory. This comes as Denmark announces its 20th donation package to Ukraine. Despite Ukraine occupying part of Russia, Danish donations will continue. Ukrainian President Zelenskyj described the occupied region as a buffer zone, aimed to destroy Russian war potential and carry out counter-offensives. The incursion into Russia began on August 6.
