Søren Gade expects Frederiksen to retain power
Søren Gade of Venstre predicts that Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen will continue to hold office after the next election due to disunity within the opposing blue block and the lack of a prime ministerial candidate. Despite aspirations for a conservative government expressed by party chairs Troels Lund Poulsen (V) and Mona Juul (K), Gade sees these as mere hopes. No one has declared their candidacy, opinion polls are unfavorable, and disagreements prevent consensus on a single candidate. Notably, DPP leader Morten Messerschmidt refuses to support a government involving the Moderates’ political leader, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, while Rasmussen himself doubts the possibility of forming a government with either the DPP or Danmarksdemokraterne led by Inger Støjberg. Juul remains non-committal on her preferences. The latest Voxmeter poll gives the red block 49.6% and the blue block 45.5% of voter support.
