Danish agency warns against Russian antivirus Kasparsky
The Danish Center for Cybersecurity advises Danish companies and authorities to reconsider using Kaspersky Lab’s antivirus software, following the United States’ ban of its sales to American customers due to national security concerns. Mark Fiedel, the deputy director, suggests a critical approach to using Kaspersky’s products. US intelligence has previously warned that Russia could potentially use Kaspersky’s software for espionage. The US ban takes effect on July 20th, with updates still permitted to existing US customers until September 29th. The company, which denies any security risk activities, was previously banned from US federal networks in 2017. Kaspersky intends to use all legal means to contest the ban.
