LA youth party criticizes leaders’ gender rhetoric
The youth section of the Liberal Alliance party criticizes senior party leaders for promoting ’embarrassing’ rhetoric about women, as reported by DR. Mette Marie Kjær Knudsen, the youth division’s development chair, spotlighted the issue following offensive remarks by Mads Strange, the party’s second candidate for European Parliament, who spoke against women’s conscription for population growth reasons. He noted that a man can impregnate another woman shortly after one pregnancy, whereas a woman must wait nine months. Strange also stated on social media that men surpass women in sports, citing a lack of female presence among the top 100 chess players. The party’s political spokesperson, Sólbjørg Jakobsen, acknowledged the need for the Liberal Alliance to reassess its communication to avoid misrepresenting its policies and values.
