Mette Frederiksen vows to protect jews

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen expressed Denmark’s commitment to do ‘all we can’ to protect Danish Jews following an assault on Israeli football fans in Amsterdam on Thursday night. Frederiksen described the events as ‘barbaric’ and cited them as examples of severe antisemitism. The violence occurred after a Europa League match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ajax Amsterdam. The Danish authorities continuously evaluate the need to enhance the security of Danish Jews, and Frederiksen highlighted an already high level of protection. She called for more awareness of the gravity of the situation faced by Jewish communities in Denmark and Europe and pointed out the alarming rise in antisemitism on social media, especially after Hamas’ attacks on Israel on October 7, emphasizing that there is no room for racism or hatred in society.
