29-year-old Dane arrested for shooting death
A 29-year-old Danish citizen has been arrested and remanded in custody until September 2nd for a shooting that killed a 43-year-old man on Hans Tavsens Gade in Nørrebro on Thursday. The suspect, who denies guilt, is charged with the murder, attempted murder of a woman accidentally present at the scene, possession of a pistol, and discharging it in public. Following a court decision, the suspect’s name is withheld, and the trial doors are closed. Police state multiple accomplices are still at large, with ongoing investigations for which public disclosure of the suspect’s explanation was restricted. Recent violent events, including shootings and grenade attacks, have prompted the implementation of two stop-and-search zones in Copenhagen until August 23rd. The victim was linked to gang environments, notably Loyal To Familia (LTF), although the suspect is not charged under the gang law that allows for double sentencing for gang-related crimes.
