Hønge puzzled by Social Democratic’s last pension fling

The Green Left’s Karsten Hønge criticizes the Social Democratic Party over plans to increase the pension age to 70, comparing it to a “last night with a forbidden lover.” Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen intends to stop automatic pension age increases post-1970 birth, but only after the current increase proposal. The Green Left campaigns for a “just pension,” opposing the increase. The Social Democrats argue the increase ensures economic sustainability. Four party spokespersons, including Employment Minister Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen, defend the plan, stating freezing the age too low depletes future funds. The increase is from the 2006 welfare agreement. The Social Democratic Party is crafting a future pension model but is not ready to present details and emphasizes the need for an economic plan first.
