Government halfway to reform promises
The Danish government has implemented reforms, including a tax reform, which are projected to increase the labor supply by 24,700 by 2030, or 29,000 including a planned SU-reform. Economy Minister Stephanie Lose stated that these initiatives will make Denmark DKK 25.5 billion richer by 2030, equating to a 0.9 percent increase in the gross national product (GNP) and DKK 4,200 per citizen. The ministers highlight past reforms’ role in creating a strong economy and low unemployment in Denmark. Despite the historically high employment with over three million people in jobs, Dansk Industri (DI) stresses the urgency of increasing the labor supply to tackle essential societal tasks, advocating for attracting international workers to prevent potential severe consequences for the country.
