Lars Løkke honored for promoting Copenhagen
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen is set to receive the Copenhagen Goodwill Ambassador Award for his efforts in promoting Copenhagen and Denmark abroad, Copenhagen Capacity announced. The Goodwill Ambassador network comprises 50 Danish business leaders from over 25 countries. The award recognizes individuals or organizations that notably promote Copenhagen and Denmark internationally, with consideration for Danes living abroad. Copenhagen’s Lord Mayor Sophie Hæstorp Andersen will host the award ceremony. The decision includes input from Jens Kramer Mikkelsen, former Lord Mayor and current chair of the Copenhagen Goodwill Ambassadors. Løkke expresses the award as highly special, noting his work toward improving conditions for expatriate Danes. It’s the third instance of the award, with last year’s going to Stéphanie Surrugue of DR for her series ‘Danes in the World.’
