58-Year-Old released in terror case linked to Hamas

A 58-year-old man involved in a terror case with connections to Hamas from December 2023 has been released, according to special prosecutor Anders Larsson of the Copenhagen Police. Although released, the man remains in custody on another unspecified legal basis. He continues to be charged in the terror case, which is still under investigation. His lawyer, Gitte Juul Jensen, has declined further comment on the case. Last year, the Copenhagen Police and Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET) held a briefing on the suspicion of preparing a terror attack, resulting in multiple arrests and detentions, including the 58-year-old man, who previously had a visible role in public debate. His identity is protected by a court order. With the recent release, all detained individuals have been freed, but the investigation and charges remain active. A court hearing on November 6 will determine if the man shall remain detained on new grounds.
