Danish instructors train ukrainians in trench warfare

Danish military instructors have been training Ukrainian soldiers in first aid under stress and trench warfare tactics as reported by the Defense Command in a recent Mission Update. The training mission in the UK, ongoing since 2022, aims to prepare Ukrainian soldiers for active participation in the war at home. Last week, simulated combat environments tested the soldiers’ abilities using smoke machines, loud noises, and flashing lights, while instructors pressured them to act swiftly. The Ukrainians enjoyed these realistic drills, says the Defense Command. Denmark’s involvement is part of a broader support initiative for Ukraine, with the UK leading the training project. Additionally, Danish instructors are teaching Ukrainian crews on Leopard tanks in Germany, and Ukrainian pilots are being trained to fly, maintain, and service F-16 jets in Denmark with the training extending until the end of 2024, expecting to graduate 20 Ukrainian F-16 pilots.
