Concerns as U.S. may pause aid to Ukraine

Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen warns of serious consequences if the U.S. suspends military support to Ukraine, as rumored by media based on anonymous officials. One official from the U.S. Defense Department indicated to Bloomberg that President Trump plans to pause the aid, which could be resumed if Ukrainian leaders show a willingness to pursue peace. Fox News reported that the suspension is not intended to be permanent. Poulsen emphasized the critical impact such a move would have on Ukraine’s battlefield capabilities, specifically referencing dependencies like the Patriot missile defense system, and suggested Europe might have to step up its support. Although not yet confirmed by the White House, the potential suspension follows a tense visit from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj to Trump, leading Poulsen to describe a suspension as a ‘wrong decision’ and a serious predicament for Ukraine.
