Director Calls for Public Crisis Prep
Emergency management director Jarl Vagn Hansen urges the Danish government to instruct citizens to prepare for a potential crisis, Jyllands-Posten reports. According to some sources Denmark is facing the most severe threat in decades, with intelligence reports of Russian espionage and sabotage plans. Hansen recommends a comprehensive exercise across critical sectors and criticizes the decentralized structure of crisis management across various ministries. While Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen according to Jyllands-Posten is open to appointing a security-focused minister, Hansen believes the government’s current approach is slow and not taken seriously enough. Although Hansen personally keeps enough supplies for several days, he refrains from giving specific advice to the public, insisting it’s the government’s responsibility.
