Russian warning on Danish weapons use

The Russian ambassador to Denmark, Vladimir Barbin, has warned that Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s statement allowing Ukraine to use donated Danish weapons against Russian targets within international law could lead to an uncontrollable escalation of the conflict. Barbin suggests Denmark is willing to give Kyiv carte blanche to provoke a direct clash between NATO and Russia. This issue divides Ukraine’s Western allies, as some insist that their military aid should only be used within Ukrainian territory. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has mentioned that the US and NATO countries in the EU should reconsider the ban on Ukraine attacking targets in Russia. The ambassador emphasized that if such actions occur, the consequences will be dreadful.
