Trump open to force for Greenland control

President-elect Donald Trump at a Florida press event wouldn’t reject using military or economic pressure to obtain the Panama Canal and Greenland, citing economic security. Threatening tariffs on Danish goods unless Greenland is sold to the U.S., his statements angered Danish Prime Minister Frederiksen and Canadian officials as Trump also eyeing economic means to merge Canada with the U.S., met with strong resistance from Prime Minister Trudeau. Trump has a history of imposing high tariffs and reiterated threats towards Canada and Mexico at the press meet. Meanwhile, his son visits Greenland amid Trump’s long-standing desire to annex it, telling on social media to ‘make Greenland great again’. Additionally, Trump has accused Panama of excessive tariffs and implied Chinese control over the Panama Canal. His inauguration is set for January 20.
