Call for tougher penalty on PM attack

Prosecutors are pushing for a stricter penalty for a 39-year-old Polish man who assaulted Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on June 7th due to her participation in public debate. The man, reportedly intoxicated, struck Frederiksen on the shoulder, causing her to lose balance while she was heading for a meeting in Copenhagen. He faces charges of violence against a public official and prosecutors recommend his deportation and a six-year entry ban. The PM recounted he spoke unintelligibly before punching her. The case will be heard on August 6th and 7th, and will also involve charges of data fraud and four counts of indecency for separate incidents.
