Former S-Minister Rasmus Prehn leaves parliament
Rasmus Prehn, former minister from the Social Democrats (S), is resigning from Folketinget to become the CEO of the Organic Agricultural Association (Økologisk Landsforening), effective March 1st. Prehn has served in parliament since 2005, holding positions such as Minister for Development Cooperation and Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries. He views his new role as a lifelong mission, emphasizing that working for organic farming aligns with sustainability goals. The transition comes after Prehn’s involvement in a credit card misuse scandal during his term as a minister, which he claims may have nearly cost his re-election in 2022. His successor in Folketinget will be Morten Klessen. Prehn has recently chaired the Parliament’s Transport Committee since 2023, replacing Helle Borup Friberg as the head of the Organic Agricultural Association.
