Russian EU election influence likely, not in Denmark

The Danish Intelligence Services (PET and FE) have stated it’s highly probable that Russia will attempt to interfere in the upcoming EU Parliament election in certain countries. However, Denmark is assessed to be less at risk of such intrusions. In a joint threat assessment regarding the election, the services believe it’s less likely that intelligence services from states like Russia and China will launch a coordinated and systematic influence campaign specifically targeting the Danish EU election. The perceived lower susceptibility of Denmark and the Danish public to Russian and Chinese influence efforts is cited as a reason for this assessment. Despite the smaller likelihood of such campaigns, PET and FE remain vigilant.
