Council slams Ticketmaster for difficult profile deletion
Consumer Council representative Ida Nynne Daarbak Reislev criticizes Ticketmaster to Ekstra Bladet for making it difficult for users to delete their profiles, a potential violation of GDPR which grants individuals the right to be forgotten. The ticketing platform’s required steps for deletion are seen as possibly illegal, as deleting an account should be as simple as it is to create one. Despite user agreement requirements, Ticketmaster’s website instructions are unclear, even having a non-functioning link under the GDPR section. After a hacking incident in June by ShinyHunters affecting 560 million user accounts including personal data, the issue of easy withdrawal of consent for data handling is highlighted.
