Mikkel Bjørn to lead DF in Copenhagen election
Mikkel Bjørn of the Danish People’s Party (Dansk Folkeparti, DF) is set to be the lead candidate in Copenhagen’s upcoming municipal elections. He aims to hold a seat in both the Folketing and the Copenhagen City Council. Bjørn takes over from long-standing DF representative Finn Rudaizky. He pledges to continue DF’s pragmatic politics and bolster a more conservative municipality. Bjørn’s campaign will focus on a conservative agenda, including a proposed ban on headscarves at municipal workplaces, immediate labor for the unemployed, a security corps, and mobile-free public schools. Recognizing the need for generational change, the 29-year-old Bjørn acknowledges Rudaizky’s legacy while aspiring to refresh the conservative presence in the city council.
