Novo Holdings nears giant acquisition

Novo Holdings, the main shareholder in Novo Nordisk, has moved closer to completing the acquisition of the contract manufacturer Catalent. Catalent shareholders voted in favor of approving the deal during an extraordinary general meeting on Wednesday, as reported by the American company in a statement according to MarketWire. The purchase is valued at $16.5 billion, equivalent to approximately 114 billion Danish kroner. Catalent expects the final transaction to be completed towards the end of the year, pending necessary regulatory approvals.
