Royal House Ends Supplier Title by 2030

The Danish Royal House has announced that the century-old royal warrant system, where certain companies could claim special recognition from the Royal House, will be abolished by December 31, 2029. The current 104 Danish and five foreign companies holding the ‘Purveyor to the Royal Danish Court’ title had been informed of this decision earlier and could continue using the title until at least January 14, 2025. Companies such as Arla, Lego, Grundfos, Jysk, and Carlsberg have been affected, with entitlements based on assessments of quality, business practices, social responsibility, and integrity. Despite the abolishment, companies like Carlsberg still may apply to use the royal crown in their branding, but this is subject to historical justification and approval by the National Archives according to the official regulations.
