Politicians’ election posters linger illegally
After the EU Parliament election on June 9th, some politicians have failed to remove their election posters by the June 17th deadline. In Copenhagen, posters of re-elected MEPs like Kira Marie Peter-Hansen (SF) with the most personal votes (178,438) and Christel Schaldemose (S) are still up. Also, old posters of Alexandra Sasha from Venstre, who withdrew her candidacy, were spotted. Municipalities, including Copenhagen, are preparing to bill those responsible for the posters, which can cost 524 DKK each for removal by the Danish Road Directorate. SF became the largest party with 17.4% of the votes while Socialdemokratiet experienced a decline, marking the result as disappointing. All parties, except Alternativet, secured EU Parliament seats.
