Denmark offers loan to rebuild Ukraine

Denmark is increasing its support for the reconstruction of Ukraine by allocating 1.5 billion Danish kroner for loans and guarantees for Danish business projects. These funds are described as ‘new resources’ by the Ministry of Industry. Minister Morten Bødskov highlighted Denmark’s ongoing support during the war, emphasizing the role of Danish companies in the reconstruction efforts. The government is specifically committing 500 million kroner to the Ukraine Fund’s business track, leading to further loans and guarantees worth 1.5 billion kroner. These resources will be a part of the proposed 2025 state budget. Industry representatives, including Dansk Industri (DI) and Dansk Erhverv, welcome this initiative, noting the importance for Danish businesses in areas like agriculture and wastewater, and the critical necessity to support a viable private sector in Ukraine during the conflict. The loan and guarantee scheme is managed by the Danish Export and Investment Fund (Eifo).
