Stock exchange fire likely started near spire
The fire at the Børsen in Copenhagen, which broke out on the morning of April 16, likely began under the roof near the dragon spire facing Slotsholmsgade. Vice Police Inspector Brian Belling announced, after months of extensive investigation, that the police were unable to determine the cause of the fire and would cease the investigation, though police are open to reopening the case if new information arises. Eyewitness accounts from 56 witnesses were taken, but no one has been charged. The spire collapsed around half an hour after the first alarm at 07:36 AM. No one was injured, and most valuable artifacts were saved. The building has since been returned to its owner, Dansk Erhverv.
