Søren Pape Poulsen died suddenly and tragically. However, no one can claim to be surprised that Pape should be replaced as party chairman. Even members of the Conservative Party know this. They just can’t agree on a successor. Consequently, since the last election’s disastrous defeat for the party, there has been talk of a kind of holding pattern.
