Building management now eligible for eco-label

The Nordic eco-label Svanemærket has expanded to include the operational phase of residential, office buildings, schools, and daycares, as well as care homes, health centers, and clinics. According to Ecolabelling Denmark, the label aims to promote resource efficiency, reduce climate impact, improve indoor climate, and extend building lifespan. The certification requires adherence to 38 criteria related to daily operations and ongoing maintenance. As of January 1, 2024, over 4000 completed buildings have been awarded the eco-label, recognized for features such as low energy consumption and a healthy indoor environment. The extension to include building operations demonstrates a commitment to environmental focus throughout the life cycle of a building.
