Copenhagen Airport records busiest September ever

Copenhagen Airport experienced a record-breaking September with 2.8 million passengers, exceeding previous months and even surpassing September 2019’s pre-COVID figures by a slight margin. Despite an 11% increase from last year, the airport saw a 5% reduction in takeoffs and landings compared to five years ago. September is a peak travel month, kicked off by leisure travel and followed by a surge in business trips post-summer. London emerged as the top destination, with over 155,000 passengers flying there from Copenhagen. The airport welcomed a total of 22.77 million passengers in the first nine months of the year, a 12% increase from the previous year, prompting an upward revision of their annual passenger projection from 29 million to 29.8 million. Commercial Director Peter Krogsgaard anticipates the trend will continue during the upcoming autumn vacation, with over 100,000 passengers expected on the busiest days, matching the summer peak travel days.
