More apply for higher education via quota 2

This year, more applicants have opted for higher education through quota 2, with a 4% increase compared to 2024, totaling 56,675 applicants. Although there has been a 5% rise in applicants for the preschool teacher education, there is a concerning stagnation in the general application rates to welfare education programs, with a notable 5% decrease in nursing applicants. Denmark’s Education and Research Minister, Christina Egelund, expresses concern over the low levels and decreased interest in language studies. The overall increase is driven by more applicants to professional bachelor’s programs and bachelor’s programs in academia. STEM fields have seen growth, whereas languages like French and German see fewer candidates. Quota 2 assessments value factors beyond academic grades, considering a variety of selection criteria. Applicants will receive responses to their applications on July 28.
