Norwegian Extends Cancellation of Flights to Israel
Due to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, Norwegian Air has extended the cancellation of all flights to Israel, including to and from Tel Aviv, until October 24. Sara Westphal Emborg Neergaard, the company’s communication chief for Denmark, states that the situation remains very uncertain and unstable. Initially, after Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, Norwegian cancelled its flights, which was subsequently extended to December 19, then to the end of March, and now to October 2024. The tense situation has led to the reduction or halting of flights to Tel Aviv by several other airlines too. Norwegian will reassess the situation if there is a significant change, but currently, they find it difficult to envision any major improvement or stabilization before their set timeframe. As a result, the planes designated for Tel Aviv routes will be utilized on other routes to increase capacity.
