Denmark Wins Silver at Bocuse d’Or

Denmark, led by chef Sebastian Holberg Svendsgaard, wins silver at Bocuse d’Or, the unofficial world chef championship, held in Lyon, France. France took first place in the competition, which saw 24 countries vying for the top spot. Last year, Svendsgaard’s team secured their position by winning gold at the European Bocuse d’Or. After the award ceremony, he expressed his long-held dream to stand on the podium and satisfaction with the team’s performance. The competition involves a full five-hour and 35-minute cooking session where a chef, an assistant, and a coach prepare dishes representative of their national cuisine. Denmark’s win marks their fifth silver at this international event, maintaining their high standing in recent years. Coming in after the previous Danish victory by Brian Mark Hansen in 2023, Svendsgaard looks forward to spending time with his family as his next grand dream.
